Would someone smarter than me please explain what is going on with our state government. Why was Roland Buris allowed to take his seat? Why did the Senate agree? What is the certificate all about? As arrogant as Blagojevich is, did they really believe he wouldn't push them? Are they wanting to impeach him? Just a few questions for the smarties in the crowd.

When a Senate seat is open for any reason, the Gov of that state appoints a replacemant to fill the seat.
Since Blago is still technically our Gov, he could appoint Burris.
When a new Senator goes to DC they have to present their credentials to the Senate. Some sort of a certificate that is signed by their states Gov and Sec of State. Jesse White, our Sec of State (who ironically is black) refused to sign Burris's credsentials because of the mess with Blago.
That's what I know.
Also, Sat. night Will Fritchley said he once pulled Burris over.
